FFI Cork Boards
Fauna & Flora International. 2010
Cork sheet, birch Plywood, canvas, cork bottle stoppers

Fauna & Flora International are a conservation organisation and I made these cork display boards for them to use for temporary exhibitions and trade fairs. They are designed to be easily taken apart and transportable and to enable the display of printed material and pamphlets etc for distribution. The design is based on a simple A-Frame structure with a cork board that folds up to transport. All the fixings, pivots and connections in the assembly of the boards use cork bottle stoppers, which are pegged into the required holes. FFI are working to conserve the cork forests in the Alentejo region of Portugal, which is sustained by the cork industry and is a vital eco-system that supports a wide variety of animal species including the near extinct Iberian Lynx.
